The most frequently asked questions

Who can join the retreats?

1) Yoga means so much more than just Asana practice, for example Yogaflow. There is so much more to explore in the context of a Retreat and Yoga!

2) A lot happens in the Retreats. You go into an unconscious process that could overwhelm you a bit. Which is totally fine when you go on a journey to such a foreign country! When you begin to understand yourself, this can be transformative. So you should be ready for it and to learn to understand yourself.

Enjoy every single moment and above all, be grateful!

3) We are not a sleeping retreat 😆

This means actively visiting the country, its people and culture. We are travelers and not tourists. You are our guest, not the participants! Sleeping for long hours has nothing to do with yoga. There is so much to explore and the life is in here and now! Humor, joking and a lot of laughter are on the program.

Which your "Manipura Chakra" will be particularly happy about! Live your inner child every day, the joy in life is the most important thing and it keeps us young!

4) Asana and meditation is a good practice. But this alone does not constitute yoga. It is only a small part of it. There is so much more to it, such as karma yoga, which should also be practiced correctly. This is particularly very important in our retreats.

Without "Karma Yoga", yoga would not be understood!

5) There are no age groups or body weight! As I said, yoga is so much more. So if you don't have any experience with yoga yet! You enjoy being with people, have a positive attitude and are open minded. Then these retreats are right for you. The main goal is not physical practice, it's about so much more.

6) If you love traveling in female groups, but Yoga isn't your thing. We also offer female group tours only, contact me for more details.

What are the temperatures?

Marrakech!

We recommend spring and autumn as the best time to travel to Marrakech. It is most pleasant in the months March to May and September to November. Then it is on average around 25°C and the nights are not that cold either. But the winter months of December to February are also recommended, as it is not the high season you can enjoy your retreat in a more relaxed manner. A part from the week over Christmas and New Year which is high season and for those who want a real adventure the best time. We recommend bringing warm clothing and the awareness that you are traveling to Africa with you. Please also note that the temperatures in Marrakech are high in Summer, July and August arround 40 - 45⁰C

The Coast of Morocco!

The hottest month of the year is August with an average daily maximum of 31°C and an average low of 20°C.

You should be able to enjoy the beach with sea temperatures averaging 23°C - 30°C or above from June to October.

Just right for enjoying a yoga holiday.

Desert!

It gets coldest in the Merzouga region from December to February at 18 to 25 ° Celsius, at night the temperatures then drop to 3 to 10 ° Celsius. The most pleasant seasons are spring March to Mai and autumn September to November, but this is also the peak season. But also Winter has a lot to offer, especially the period over new year. Be prepered with warm clothing and be aware that we stay in the desert. Even if the Camp is luxury, it is still challenging to have the same standard like in the cities.

Atlas Mountains

The Atlas Mountains experience the full range of temperatures, with snow and freezing temperatures at higher elevations during the winter months. The hotter temperatures inland are limited to summer, with these areas being colder than coastal areas in winter. Also here we recommend to bring warm clothing and same like in the desert camp, it's still challenging to have the same standard like in cities. All this is part of our journey and 95% the accommodation are well prepered. But there can always be a technical issue with AC or WiFi connection.

What should I bring with me? Are yoga mats provided?

We have mats here, but bring please something to lay over the yogamat. Please note, those are travel mats and from sand and dust they doesn't look like studio mats. But we clean them after each retreat and you can bring in case desinfection. Also handedesinfection and sunscreen if needed. Powerbank can be good to take with you.

There are pools in few accommodations, if you like bring your swimwear.

I will come back few days before arrival regarding the airport transfer. Send me one week before arrival your flightdetails to organize the transfer.

Is there a dress code in Morocco? Do I have to cover my hair?

Local women adhere to a dress code in Morocco, opting for conservative pieces, but you'll see a wide range of outfits in Morocco, especially in high tourism areas. Women in tourist areas wear everything from crop tops to burkas. So no dress code, you dont need to cover your hair and bikini is allowed.

Please respect the culture and religion, thank you.

Ramadan dress code during the month

The Ramadan dress code advises people to wear clothes that cover the shoulders, torso and knees; and avoid tight, short, low cut and revealing clothing.

"To beat the heat, it is better to wear clothes that are loose-fitting and light in material and colour."

What do we get for breakfast and dinner?

We are more focused on vegetarian meals, but also chicken and fish is available. We prefer not to include red meat for breakfast or dinner.

Vegetables are a large component of Moroccan dishes. A vegetable medley salad precedes almost every meal. Commonly used vegetables include potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, artichokes, and carrots, among many others. Vegetables also round out most meat dishes, providing depth and flavor as well as nutrients and fiber.

For example:

Tagine is both the name of the dish and the conical clay pot in which it is traditionally cooked.    (vegan)

Is there anything i have to know?

First thing, you don't need be worried about anything. Second, enjoy this retreat as much as you can.

We try to follow the itinerary as good as we can, but also inform you that it can be that there are small chances during the trip. It depends on the weather. Especially Yogasessions we do mostly before breakfast  lunch or dinner when we travel, because evenings and mornings are a bit cold in winter and midday hot the rest of the year. One or two times i will do a short early bird wake up session (Surya Namaskar and Kapalbhati Pranayama)

Cacao ceremony depends on the arrival time, because sometimes we have late arrivals.

Let me know if you have any limitations in your yoga practice or injuries. During the yoga session I will walk around and give adjustments, please let me know if you don't like me to adjust you.

Not every retreat is fully booked. Some take place in small groups and it has happened that someone has taken part alone. There are sometimes rebookings, but we don't cancel any retreats. Since the flight is usually already booked and the vacation is fixed. Please also note, weeks like New Year, Easter ect... can be, that there are more taking part up to 12 people.

Once you have payed the deposit your space is booked and the remaining amount will be made with PayPal, or via bank transfer one month before arrival.

In Morocco most shops take just cash, no cards. So good to have some with you. But it is also possible to exchange here, or to take it from the ATM. (We are happy to give you the information at arrival, where to exchange)

Breakfast and dinner is included and lunch is extra! Please send me the information if you are vegetarian, vegan, or if you eat fish and chicken as well. Also the information if you have any allergies or intolerances.

On Retreats we always let some tips for the staff. The easiest way was always that we collected from each one 25 Euro (250 dirhams) and we gave it then to the service. In the end we see how much is left, or if it needs more. For the driver who stay the whole time with us and are like travel friends we gave in the end extra.

For luch you can count 8 to 15 euros per meal.

We prefer to give you small informations in the mornings for the daily itinerary. Not all informations in the beginning. Also the driver and guides are happy to answer you all questions about Morocco.

Sharing of pictures and videos from the retreat week on social media. Please respect if someone doesn't like to be in stories, reels or on pictures which will be shared on social media. Let me know at arrival if you doesn't like to be in any posts, thank you.

I am very happy when you tag me on Instagram, Facebook and TikTok 😉

Pease send me one week before arrival your flightdetails, flightnumber, airline, time of arrival. The driver will pick you up right on time.

Sending good vibes for a safe and enjoyable flight.

Children from the Atlas Mountains ( Marrakech & hiking Retreat)

It would be better not to give the children cash or sweets. It makes them more likely to beg and sweets are bad for their teeth. The health system in Morocco is not the best, especially if you live in the mountains. However, we always like to bring something for the children. In the Atlas Mountains we support and motivate them to go to school. We bring them notebooks, erasers, scissors, etc... If you would love to support this too, 10 to 20 euros is not a very high amount, but it makes a child smile. We get everything together on site and you can hand it over to the children personally.

Nomad children (Desert Retreat)

It would be better not to give the children cash or sweets. It makes them more likely to beg and sweets are bad for their teeth. The health system in Morocco is not the best, especially if you live in the desert. However, we always like to bring something for the children. In the Desert we support and motivate them. We bring them Toiletries such as shampoo, shower gel, toothbrush, toothpaste etc... But also tea and nuts so that the kids can welcome many guests in the future. If you would love to support this too, 5 to 10 euros is not a very high amount, but it makes a child smile and looking good. We get everything together on site and you can hand it over to the children personally.

Jemaa El Fna good to know!

M A R R A K E C H       M E D I N A

If you are ready to go with the flow, walk through the streets with humor and a smile. Then you will definitely have the best day in the Medina of Marrakech

1) If you have a sensitive stomach! Avoid fresh juices for the first three days. Even if it's difficult because they're just too good.

2) Directly at Jemaa El Fna. You will definitely see snakes and monkeys. A lot of money is required for a photo, around 20 to 50 euros. Remember that a cleaning lady earns 10 to 15 euros a day. You should also think about whether you want to support this with a photo? Because the animals are exposed to daily stress and in my opinion they are not cared for enough! Therefore, it is better to tip the cleaning lady in the Riad and take the photos on another place in nature.

3) You will definitely meet women who would like to give you a henna tattoo. Even if you say no, she will start a little conversation. You should be prepared for her to just start doing the henna for you. She will say that she just show you how it looks like and won't ask for any money. Then when she's done, she'll ask you for around 20 to 25 euros. If you don't want that, make sure she doesn't have the option to start working on your arm.

4) Taxi drive, always ask before driving how much it will cost

5) If you get lost in the medina. Don't go with someone who wants to show you the way! These are mostly fake guides and will confuse you by usually showing you the wrong way. Here too, they usually ask for money like 30 to 40 euros. Don't show them that you are lost and just say that you know the way. It's better to stay quiet and look for a café. There you can check online. The people are very helpful, if you ask for help in the cafe you will definitely get it.

What a wonderful life

Always remember to live life with passion and love! Don’t wait for the weekend to rest or have fun! Enjoy each moment of every day and never take things for granted! The greatest gift you can give yourself is acknowledging that you are a human being and perfection does not exist.

Forgive yourself for things you did not know when you made “regretful” decisions and don’t let anything hinder your growth moving forward.

I am beyond grateful to have found this retreat with Daniela (Nella). Thanks to her, I experienced some of the happiest days of my life. The retreat was nothing short of magical—unforgettable and deeply soul-touching. Every detail was perfect, from the delicious food and beautiful accommodations to the kind and attentive drivers. And, of course, the yoga sessions and the entire journey itself were absolutely transformative.

From the initial contact with Daniela right through to our departure, she was an absolute delight to deal with. This retreat offers a rich and diverse array of experiences, ensuring there's always somewhere to go and something to do, with yoga or meditation incorporated into each day.
